The camera on the iPhone gets more and more new features each time it is updated on a new iPhone model. These can involve things like a better lens, a more capable zoom, or more integration into other apps and features on the device.
Some of the camera options, like the ability to show a flash notification on the iPhone 11, have been around for several years.
Another common option is the flash on the iPhone camera. As the layout of the camera app has changed over time, then method for enabling or disabling the camera flash has changed as well.
Fortunately it is still something that you can control with a couple of steps, which we outline below.

- Open Camera.
- Select Photo.
- Touch the flash icon.

How to Turn Off the Flash on an iPhone 11
The steps in this guide were performed on an iPhone 11 in iOS 14.3. These same steps will work on other iPhone models using iOS 14 as well.
Step 1: Open the Camera app.
Step 2: Choose the Photo option from the horizontal slider near the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Touch the flash icon at the top-left of the screen.
When you have disabled the flash it will have a diagonal line through the icon.
